3 Way Calling and Wifi Questions

I am new to this site and yesterday I bought the Imagio, my 1st Windows phone. So far I am very pleased with it, especially after reading on other forums about the complete dislike for windows devices.

My first question has to do with making a 3 way call.
I had a Storm and while on a call I could press a button and add another person to the line. Can this be done on the Imagio?

Secondly, I turned on Wifi at home at it found my wireless network but would not connect, it asked for a "network key".
I have an ipod touch and it connected right away when I got it and just needed to put in my password.

Any help on these 2 issues would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: 3 Way Calling and Wifi Questions

Haven't tried 3-way calling yet, but I would think there is a way.

Regarding the WiFi, the network key should be the "password" your WiFi router has setup for WPA/WPA2 I presume you are using for security. Otherwise it's a WEP key that is 13 or 26 (I think) characters long of mixed letter/numbers.

Hmm tried 3-way calling. Supposed to just hit Send during the call and it puts the other end on hold while yuo call another line then Send again to conference them in. I couldn't get Send to do anything when I tried. Tell me if you can do that, I'll play around a bit more.

Works for me on the Imagio (and every other cell phone I've ever had).
Just make a call. Once you are in a call press the Send button. Dial a number and press send and you will hear the call connecting/ringing. Hit Send again and all three calls will be together. Hit End to get rid of the last one, and End again to end call completely.

Re: 3 Way Calling and Wifi Questions

While on a call, look down at your screen and there is a software button "Flash". I believe pressing the "Flash" button is the way to initiate a 3-way call on the this phone.

Re: 3 Way Calling and Wifi Questions

Well it works, but here's what I noticed.

I made a call to my desk phone at work and picked it up on speakerphone. I say something and I can hear it so the call is there. If you press Send or Flash nothing happens. However if you dial another number and press Send, then the first call goes on Hold and the second call is made. You can then hit Send (or Flash) again and it will conference the 2. The odd thing is that when you dial that second number the tones of the number are audible to the first call. Seems odd you don't hold the first call before typing the number, but rather after you hit Send to dial that number. I looked in the manual for the Imagio and it describes the process this way so it is the intended way.

Q. How do I make a three-way call?

1. Press the TALK/SEND button to open the Phone screen.
2. Make the call to the first participant. When the first call is connected, make a call to the second participant. The first call is put on hold when you dial the second call.
3. When the second call is connected, tap Flash to start the three-way call. The screen displays Call in progress.

Correct, that's what I was describing, but what is weird is that when you dial the second number the first party will hear you dialing because you don't hit send until AFTER the second number is typed in and they get put on hold. It's odd they didn't go with hit SEND during a call to place the person on hold and dial the second number after that. I guess if you use contacts it's no biggie, but if you need to actually dial a number they will get beeps in their ear.

This is the way it has always been on my previous non-smartphones. The first caller can hear you push the buttons.

It does. It works for me that way (hitting the send BEFORE dialing in the third party) just like I posted (post #4).

Isn't that standard? I don't recall doing it any other way, even with dumb phones.
