SPB Backup Program

SPB Backup! Does this program backup data only, as in what you have on your memory card? Or does it work similarly to the type of programs I use with my PC (Ghost; Terybyte; Acronis) used to restore a system that crashes. Last night I had to hard reset the phone and reinstall all the aps. A pain! Does the program compensate for that? Thanks for any help.

SPB Backup works fine. I own it and use it. you can get your phone set up the way you want and then back up with SPB Backup. If you had to do a hard reset (like you did) you can restore your phone from your SPB back up file and for the most part you will be good to go. I always find a few bugs after a restore. But nothing major.

I don't usually include my PIM when I back up. I do a custom back up and leave the PIM info out and restore it with Windows Mobile Device Center simply bc after a hard reset my computer always sees my phone as a new phone and I end up with 2, 3, 4, devices listed in Active Sync. SO I delete the sync relationship from the phone and the desktop.

That's just my way though.

You cannot use SPB if you are flashing all sorts of custom roms and hoping to restore from one rom to a completely different rom. But I don't think you are flashinf roms yet - so a non-issue.

Oh yeah - so if you wanted to fool around with your GPS settings and totally boinked your phone you could do a restore.
