E-mail spam filter available.

I was getting sick of getting 20 viagra and other spam mails a day so I went on the Marketplace and got Mobile Active Defense (MAD).

It cost $17 per year subscription and works very well with one exception. Do not try to set up while in 3G mode. It will NOT work and hangs the phone causing you to soft reset. If you set up in WIFI, it works fine.

Unfortunately it's an Imagio issue. I worked with the software developers and tried 6 or 7 fixes that didn't work. So it's NOT perfect, but will work. Once you're set up, you can switch back to 3G and everything works fine.

BUT, if you're sick of spam mail like I was, it cuts it down considerably. Not perfectly, but considerably. I might maybe get one a day, but that's pretty good. It does the filtering by doing a redirect of your email to their servers that filter the emails before they get to your phone, so there is a basically a tiny set up program on your phone and that's it. It's transparent and nstant, so you don't know it's there. They update their filters around 100 times a day so it's pretty effective. The thing I like is that there is no memory useage or slowdown of the phone since there is no program running.

Check it out or Google it to see if it will work for you. If you don't like it, don't bitch at me, I'm only telling you if you are sick of spam mail, it might be good for you. I love it. Especially since e-mail is very important to me and my service providers (RCN's) built in filters suck. I tried some other "cloud based" freebies, but they were a pain in PITA to set up whereas this is pretty simple. their customer service guys are real nice and respond almost right away to any issues.

Hope this helps someone.
