flash unlocker and ROM with disk drive option

When you connect the Imagio to a computer, the phone screen asks if you want active sync or to use the phone as a disc drive. Active sync does not work with my current computer, can i still use the unlocker and flash a new ROM while using the 'disk drive' setting?

You have to use the Activesync setting. I don't think it really matters if your phone actully syncs or not, it's just that you want the connection to read the phone and not the storage card. (disk drive)
