anyone have a BT car stereo that activates voice command?

I used to have an excellent car stereo with bluetooth: the best part was that when I hit the button on the receiver, it activated the voice command feature on the phone *through* the bluetooth, so I could dial a number from the phone's own list (or indeed use any other command). My new car's BT unit only knows how to initiate a phone call from its own (small) memory and can't activate voice command on the phone - all it does is connect a call through a specific number it knows. The problem is that none of the stereo manufacturers that I talk to understand the difference or know which of their radios have this functionality. Does anyone have a BT unit in their car that they can confirm activates the voice command on the Imagio and speaks to it through the microphone/speakers when they hit the button on the stereo unit?

Hi Mike,

I don't use a sbluetooth stereo, but what I do use is a Schoshe bluetooth visor mount., and it seem works really good on the voice commands. I'm using Adortabs v1.3 verizon rom... he's got 3 of them this one has all verizon apps removed.. don't know if that helps any or not.. but maybe someone else can shed some light on their stereo unit.

I was trying to help a friend with either a lexus or infinity with the same problem. there is no way from the steering wheel bluetooth commands to control the phone "voice command". really annoying.

It's frustrating that at $20 bluetooth "headset" can handle this though.
