Re: which do you prefer

I just stuck with what I had with My MQ9: Active Sync
I keep my desktop outlook synced without issues.

Skyfire is my brower choice it is stable and I haven't had any issues with the websites I visit.

Re: which do you prefer

ddemara, I find Active Sync simple and reliable, so I haven't tried anything else yet.

Opera is a good browser, but I'm looking for a way to load and run NOAA radar loops, and that means a JAVA runtime Environment.

Strykker - would you mind checking NOAA's website and seeing if Skyfire will run local radar loops (I didn't find any mention of JME in the browser on Skyfire's website), and let me know what you find?

Re: which do you prefer

This thread needs a poll!

I use ActiveSync to connect to Google Mail, because Gmail is what I have and continue to use as my everyday personal mail client and I prefer to have push e-mail enabled.

I use Opera 9.7 as my broswer; it just seems easier to use.

Best regards,
-boggsie

it's more about what tool works for the job. i use oggsync to sync (wirelessly) 4 google calendars and google contacts. I also use windows live to (wirelessly) sync a hotmail account (makes it imap essentially).

cradling can be a hassle but is fast & reliable.... and can handle more formats. you can use both myphone & desktop active sync. if you use Windows Live Desktop then there is no need to cradle (sync contacts with Windows Live and Calendar with MyPhone

opera 9.x and opera mini 5.2 over IE. Opera 9.x runs great especially if you ditch TF3D, freeing up more RAM for opera not touchFlo. I don't use opera Mini at all once ditching TF3D and it's great rendering full paged (no more mobile pages).

Re: which do you prefer

I use Google to sync my e-mail, and the Microsoft My Phone purely as a backup for my calendar and contacts. I should probably go ahead and use Google for all of this, but, since the Google sync doesn't always work perfectly (beta), the My Phone has worked all 4 times I've used to restore my phone's information.

**EDIT** I do like My Phone, because I can tell it to send the GPS location along with the syncing information, in case I lose the phone.

Re: which do you prefer

Active Sync, by FAR if you are using Outlook. I always back up my contacts into a .pst on a weekly basis so no matter what happens I lose very little as far as contacts go if either I mess up or something like My Phone decides to wipe my data (which has happened twice.)
