2.31.651.7-Rooted?

I have my Hero rooted on the .5 as per xda.developers. site, it sais that if you intentially update to .6 it will undo the root i have on the phone. I am not running a custom ROM as when I rooted my phone it fixed most of my problems I was having with .6 . Will this 2.31.651.7 OTA update do the same thing?? Does anybody know this yet?? Please and Thanks for the responses

If it's rooted per the site, it may not install, since the method denies the updates by renaming the cert files. Or it will install and break root. NFX came out with an optimised stock .7 and recently Liqiodsolstice has some new roms based on them with some optimizations and sprint apps removed. Great roms. Liquid's roms are really snappy.

I installed the linked official sprint RUU of 2.31.651.7, it actually only installed 2.31.651.6 then the OTA offered 2.31.651.7... I didn't take it..

The universal root apk rooted 2.31.651.6 without an issue.

I tried it and it failed to install. So I might try that ROM, but I was also thinkin the 710 OC kernel. I'm pretty new to this supercharging something with no pistons so I'm gathering Intel and figuring how to flash ROMs and stuff. I think I understand that only certain kernels will work with certain ROMs.

Yeah... im going to need some n00b help too. im a windows phone guy. and although i run droid on my htc diamond500 i feel that the hero that im picking up tomorrow is going to have to be tampered with.

I like the comment about supercharging things with out pistons LOL if i wasnt a professional geek i would totally agree with you. i have a blown car as well..... different worlds, same idea, FASTER and BETTER!

I'm pretty sure the Liquid rom comes with an overclocked kernel. Just need to use setcpu. It is indeed a very snappy and stable ROM

XDA-Developers...Honestly as much as I love PPCGEEKs there is no Hero community here. It's very large and active on XDA.

2.31.651.7-Rooted? - YES!
[ROOT] Easy Root, works with any Stock ROM (Including 2.31.651.7!) - xda-developers

I rooted my rom with this instruciton!
