official sprint hero 2.1 update

i was wondering if it is possible to root my hero. sprint installed the new firmware on my Hero phone and it didnt come with the live wallpaper feature so i was wondering how can i install a new custom firmware.

nope i took my phone in becuz i was having a lot of issues with it next thing i know they took my phone and told me it will be ready in about an hour. Got it back with new firmware

Some guys over at xda are working on it day and night. Last time I looked the pool for whoever was able to root it was up to $150 and growing by the day so I'm sure someone will pull it off. Take a look at the thread if you want here's the link:
