hotspot help ASAP

I'm in a conference, and my comp isn't connecting to wifi. But my phone is picking up 4G signal so I'm trying to run it through my EVO (rooted with omjs latest) anyways my comp connects to the phone and it shows I'm connected to internet but it says server not found. I just reset my comp and I'm getting the same thing. Please help
