Can't install OTA update...
I've tried to install the OTA update on my rooted stock rom, but it gets 1/3 of the way done, and the little warning symbol appears. I have to pull the battery to get back in.
Ive tried to redownload it a 2nd time thinking it was a corrupted download, but the 2nd one did it as well. Any ideas? Nevermind... Check here for fix - confirmed manual update worked fine. xda-developers - View Single Post - if you get new update pls. upload and post here Anyone elses update not working? - xda-developers Evo 4G update is pushing out now, here's how to manually update | Android Central

Re: Can't install OTA update...
My evo is rooted, I just flashed to a new custom rom, no problems. I figure I am getting some benefit of the OTA just packaged into a custom rom. I figure once I go custom there is no reason to ever go back to stock.

I am rooted with Amon RA and unrevoked-forever, but this update looks for this system apps and if it doesn't find them it just does not update. Is there any way to apply this update without having to installed any other ROM? I have tried manual update thru recovery to no avail. Any suggestions? I also ripped the .apk and .odex from a stock rom and putting it in the system folder, but it did not work. HELP!? |
