Talking Some Info On OC Kernels..

Over Clocked Kernels
Info
I have seen alot of folks ask about Over Clocked Kernels for roms and the battery life.. So I wanted to share what is true about using a Over Clocked kernel and the battery life..
Nothing wrong with Over Clocked Kernels I just don't use I prefer battery life over speed...
  • You gain speed from it.
  • As for battery life it will not help out with...
  • Every time you push the cpu up the more juice it will need..
  • Some people under clock some parts of it so the phone sleeps longer not really needed.. This won't help when the display is on and your playing around with the phone.
  • Be carfeul who's kernel you use some may not of been tested and could spank your cpu in your phone..
  • Also having both cores running at the same time all the time will use more juice so this will also not really help out other then give you more speed not help your battery life..
  • Depending on what was tweaked kernel wise can bring more heat on to the CPU and your phone will get warmer to hot to shutting down.. Be careful if you buy a used phone on the net....
  • Your phone doesn't have a fan in it like a computer so the more heat it gets can spank it quicker or burn it up..
  • There is no way to Over Clock a kernel and make it use less battery..
  • So always use a OC kernel at your OWN RISK...

STOCK KERNELS
  • The stock kernel is what comes factory..
  • This has been set to what ran best at the factory...
  • Was set within standards to have smoothness along with the best settings to help battery life and keep the cpu heat down..
  • This was also tested non stop before it was released..
