Better battery indicator for the home screen?

Hello,

I'm new to Android so forgive my ignorance. On the top of the home screen the battery indicator looked like it was OK - green with what looked like about 35% remaining. The next second it tells me I'm going into power save mode and I have 15% or less battery life remaining.

On my old WM phone the battery indicator wasn't very acurate so there were alternate methods of displaying the battery life that were better. Are there better ones for the home screen?

Also any way to click on it and get more information? Seems like that should be an option but I don't be able to get that.

plus 1 for circle batt for stock... indicates in percentage and shows different colors depending on life. Better options after full root.

edit: maybe i'm talking about something different... the one i've used puts a circle (divided in % increments and color coded by battery status) in the upper left with a numerical percentage inside. It's on XDA somewhere, not sure if it ever made it to the market. Here it is, also haven't tried to see if it works with qHD displays (may look familiar if coming from WinMo): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?p=8639993

Here's a pic of the various status changes:

Re: Better battery indicator for the home screen?

This is the one I have been using...

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.elvison.batterywidget

It shows the % left in the upper left and also has more details int he pull down top shelf.

I got it from this thread... http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/htc-evo-3d...ry-widget.html
Scrosler posted it.

Re: Better battery indicator for the home screen?

Battery Solo Widget is also good.

Better yet is Battery Indicator, but I believe that costs $

Re: Better battery indicator for the home screen?

once we get s-off w/ perm root, I'll post the modded framework-res.apk I made that includes percentage in the stock battery icon.

Re: Better battery indicator for the home screen?

Yeah, that's the one I miss, the circle in the top bar.

Re: Better battery indicator for the home screen?

I've been using Battery Notifier (Big Text), available on the market in free and paid versions. It doesn't remove or replace the stock battery indicator, but it works very well.
