Froyo Roll Call

With the help of a very useful link I was able to manually install Froyo on my incredible today. I love it so far, besides the extended start up time, the perfomance on my phone Is overall better. The screen resolution instantly improves. I was wondering how many Incredible users out there have upgraded and what do they think?

Re: Froyo Roll Call

I got froyo as soon as I flash my first rom, that was actually my intention. This is just a small complaint but ill get over it eventually. I dont like long pressing on the main screen and not having an option of adding the application. (instead you have to go into menu first and long press on the app you want) Like I said its entirely frivilous, but I am still not used to it.

Yeah, the bloatware and added memory usage are the two main cons I've discovered so far. However the processor in this phone shows how it has been ready for Froyo the.whole time. The sense UI works even better now.

Re: Froyo Roll Call

I just got the incredible today borrowed from a friend, and the first thing it did was offer me a 2.2 update OTA. It's a good thing too, because there were two serious show stoppers that made me actually say screw this I'll stick with the TP2. Bluetooth headset voice activation and having to unlock my phone everytime I turned it on due to exchange settings. 2.2 fixed both.

Re: Froyo Roll Call

For some reason, my wife's Incredible won't connect to the internet after the update. Any solution?

Re: Froyo Roll Call

I looked into the problem, and your best bet is to power up your phone while holding down the volume down button, and go into recovery mode.

Re: Froyo Roll Call

iII also noticed that 2.2 drains the battery like hell. you need t upgrade your battery to get the old crappy battery life.

Re: Froyo Roll Call

I second that. My battery life definitely does seem to go down despite not having increased usage from the previous operating system. I will also say on a positive note that they have better memory management. I consistently have 140-170 megs of ram free. That is pretty cool to see.

Virtuous custom rom and help that...stock 2.2 but with out the bloat must be rooted...see them over at XDA... if there was another Mighty Mike who was very picky about their rom it would be this guy...
