droid eris rooting?

are we able to do this??? what exactly will it do for me? can anyone explain? kinda new to this but the phone ROCKS

rooting has not been completed yet. should be done soon.


rooting will be able to let you run the custom OS without any of the bs that already preinstalled on the phone. Also it allows you to run some programs as well. Basically you can save a lot of space on your phone.


keep in mind once the root is finial and you want to root it, installing the OS incorrectly can brick your phone.....once its bricked you might as well kiss it goodbye cause its gone.

The upside to the 2.1 leak is that now rooting should happen quicker, since there are new vulnerabilities to exploit. Root on 1.5 was looking unlikely. It is speculated that root methods wont be released until the official 2.1 update so that HTC/Verizon don't discover the method and patch the OS.
