suggestions for new diamond user

I lost my vogue and I'm getting a diamond.
It's 'out for delivery' acording to UPS, so when I get home I'm looking forward to some play time with the new toy, but I have a couple of questions before I start.

1. can anyone (with experience with the vogue) comment on how good the VOIP voice calls are over skype? It was pretey bad, infact almost un-useable with the vogue. Iwas never sure if it was the CDMA internet speed or the vogue's memmory/speed that wa the problem.

2. ROM suggestions? I know there are many andI've been looking through, but I want to use my tomtom which is TTN6, most of the cooked Rom's with tomtom are TTN7, can I use my existing maps and port my fave's ect into TTN7 using TTN6 maps?

sorry if these are covered anywhere, couldn't find the answer I was looking for in searches.

There is an app in this thread: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=60239

It routes the speakerphone audio through the earpiece instead, making skype usable. I have used skype on my diamond, and it seems to work pretty well over wifi. I had a vogue, and skype over EVDO was pretty worthless in my opinion. If you have cell coverage, why not just make a call?

Re: suggestions for new diamond user

Thanks, I'll download the app.

I use skype a lot as my friends and family back in the UK have their computers on as soona s they get home from work so I can skype them and skype to skype being free saves a big chunk of change. even calling cell phones back in the uk is much cheaper through skype or skype to go than it is using Sprint's international reduced rate package.

I only use 40% of my mins each month and most of these are calling by local skype to go number to call UK cell phones.

Thanks for the link to the app.
