Can you speed up how long it takes to start ringing

I hate how when someone calls me they hear 2 or 3 rings before my phone starts ringing. It gives me very little time to answer before going to voicemail. Is there any way to make it start ringing (soundwise) as soon as the backlight comes on... or at least when the answer screen shows.

smaller wav files work best.

Re: Can you speed up how long it takes to start ringing

There are a few steps that you can take to speed up caller answering.
1. Disable the HTC dialer and use the stock WM one.
2. Lower the "slot cycle index" from 2 to 1 or 0 in ##PST.
3. Use a short (less then 30 seconds) uncompressed (.wav) ring tone located on the actual phone memory (not in the internal storage folder).

** Extra note - be aware that suggestion 2 will reduce your standby battery life.

Hope this helps.

thanks, I could not have been more concise, however #2 has not decreased my batterylife (mine is set to 0 ). I suppose if you left it in standby for 2 days, you may notice an hour less.

ORBY's suggestions are perfect.

2. Does decrease battery life, but it would be more noticeable in a low-reception area.
