as some of you may already know the diamond can record both sides of a conversation during a phone call using the notes application, I read in another thread where someone was asking about visual voicemail and since sprint charges for forwarding calls there is no good option. I was thinking maybe if there was a developer willing to give it a go to develop a "visual voicemail" application that would answer the phone after a certain amount of rings which you could customize of course record the message while muting the phone's mic of course that way you don't get background noise from your own phone and then save it in mp3 or wav and gives you the phone number the time, date and the option to listen to the message either with a built-in player or with windows media. To give you a visual of what i'm talking about if you've seen the visual voicemail app on the instinct something like that but everything is done on the phone side.

This would be awesome. I remember I used to have sanyo phones for sprint and they had the exact feature you describe (obviously not a WM phone) - it was called 'call screening' I believe. I'd love to see this kind of functionality wrapped into some sort of visual voicemail as well!

Im just curious, if sprint charges for forwarding calls, how do they do it with the instinct? Is there not some way to do the same for the diamond with a developed program?

Instead of having to call your voicemail, you can review the voice messages through an application on your phone. You can choose to listen to specific ones and delete the ones you dont wanna listen to without ever having to call the voicemail.

yeah its a nice plus and i live in chsrles city which is about 45 minutes from richmond
