Diamond Touchpad

Has anyone seen an app to make the bottom part of the Diamond a mouse pad?

We know the pad around the touch wheel at the bottom is touch sensitive. I have intuitively reached for the pad on occasion in order to scroll or mouse over an item to click it in opera.

So wouldn't a mouse type driver for the pad be usable? I think it would be great for clicking links in opera without having to soom in real close on it or in other apps, like contacts, to use it like a scroll wheel.

Anyone thought of this or is there an app like this?

Re: Diamond Touchpad

Haven't heard of anything like a mouse pad type control but most custom ROM's have smart touch enabled wich allows the ring around the dpad to be used a'la iPod to zoom in and out or scroll in most apps. Doesn't work everywhere though. Its called Smart Touch. Don't know if it can be enabled in a stock ROM but I think with some reg edits and a cab it should be possible. Search around for Smart Touch here and/or in XDA to see what turns up.
