Re: opera vs safari

They both do a good job, however I dislike how Safari doesn't re size the text in the column.

Re: opera vs safari

What r U guys basis on comparing these 2 browsers? I think a comparison is more valid if U use both browsers on a regular basis. Some people will say that Opera is better than the Safari without even trying Safari at all and vice versa. Comments like that is totally biased. Here's the thing, Most WM users will say Opera is better and Iphone Users will say Safari is better. There is no real better browser because it's a user preference. I'm sure comments on Iphone forums are totally different.
I must say though, The Iphone screen display is significantly bigger that WM devices Which I totally dig. I wish we have bigger screens like that. Till then, Everything is a fair game.

Re: opera vs safari

Wow imagine if it was Safari vs Skyfire... The only problem I have with Skyfire is reading text while scrolling.

well safari doesn't do flash therefore its already an inferior browser. True the official released beta of opera doesn't either, but opera states on the website that embedded flash will work with the final release. Also on leaked beta versions of opera the flash video does work. So with that, opera is better then safari.

Not all people needs flash, which is mainly used for youtube videos and iphone already have an app for youtube. You mentioned that Opera did not come with flash too right? And U use Opera just fine without flash. There are also a lot of people that will choose the ease of use over flash. It's still user preference and like I said, In iphone forums, comments will be different. I am not an Iphone fan but I use fair judgement. I own an iphone too. So I pertty much know what i'm talking about. Have U use safari? or U just based ur comment on what U read? I must say though, U prolly read mostly WM forums.

I'm writing this from Safari (iPod Touch) it's a great browser but Opera is more to my likeing seeing as how it renders pages quickly and resizes text columns.

actually i have an itouch, i believe its the same thing but not positive. opera is by far way better, even if you aren't talking about embedded flash, just my opinion, so I want the person who started this thread to know that. Safari just isn't as good, which is why opera is the number 1 provider for mobile web browsers. It brings up pages way faster, and like stated above, it resizes the text columns which is my biggest pet peeve with safari. Even if i'm in a wi-fi area, i'll turn my wi-fi on my mogul on first. Try going to facebook on safari, it won't work correctly. There are plenty of other sites that don't work either, but it wont help listing all those sites. if you can find sites that work on safari and not on opera, that list will be very small or nothing at all.

Re: opera vs safari

Fun video...
It's obviously a fake... Apple products do not crash. LOL.

The guy making the video should've changed the backlight setting for the HTC. By scrolling while loading a page, he was slowing down Opera.

They're both nice, but I'll stick with Skyfire.
