Diamond is getting old... What are you replacing it with?

Well my diamonds time is coming to an end, and my provider now has HSPA+ along with CDMA.

Just wondering what you guys who may still linger have upgraded to?

BlackBerry Tour 9630

I had to give the BB a try. Everybody is rocking one these days. Really, the Sprint TP2's price and lack of decent android hardware is what prompted me to try it out. So far, I like it.

Pretty much waiting for WP7S

Re: Diamond is getting old... What are you replacing it with?

I've had a TP... and I just picked up a Diamond due to the durable, compact form factor and the fact that it allows me to keep my current dirt cheap legacy plan on sprint.

I'm going to stick with the diamond at least until WP7S comes out... but even then I'll probably wait a generation on WP7S until my favorite apps are available (a decent navigation app with on-device maps is a requirement for me).

Nothing is knocking my socks off in the android realm at this point in time, I'd consider the iphone if it were available on sprint, and I'd consider the pre if they improved the hardware.

Re: Diamond is getting old... What are you replacing it with?

keeping my Diamond until one of these 2 phones come out.

HTC Supersonic
BB Essex (Tour 2 or 9650 or 9730/9750 or CDMA Bold....rumor has spun crazily about this phone on crackberry.com)

Supersonic is a 4.3" screen on Android with a snapdragon 1ghz processor. The Essex is supposed to have similar starts to the Bold 9700 on AT&T, maybe better since it is coming out quite a while after it perhaps.

I think I am going to keep mine, until Palm Pre becomes available on SERO, if that ever happens. Can't beat a 30 dollar plan.

i don't see the Pre ever going to SERO. Sprint is trying to phase out SERO plans. head over to Sprintusers.com to look around and see what they are saying about it.

Re: Diamond is getting old... What are you replacing it with?

hey, i'm on telus too just counting the days till i see palm pre plus on sale. i doubt i will go back to htc. i don't care much for all the apps anymore. i want the phone to be as responsive as can be, text messaging intuitive and quick, browsing fast, visible, and stable, gps, and the damn phone to feel like a touch phone. android is nice and all, but its the same thing, your replacing computer mouse with your thumb. click here, click there. the way pre uses gestures feels the way a touch phone should. plus, pre has nice apps too and physical keyboard. multi tasking pwns. enough said.

Re: Diamond is getting old... What are you replacing it with?

winmo multi tasks....but ok

i was not fond of any 'slider' phone keyboards ive used yet.

i am waiting for the new BB Essex/Tour 2/9750/CDMA Bold or whatever they are going to call it to come out though. If not that than the HTC Supersonic is possibly my next phone.

Using TF3D/Sense are you not swiping your finger to goto different pages/scroll etc. Don't see how the Pre is different, but I've never played with it so I'm not sure how you will select an application or 'click' on something without tapping teh screen like in WinMo.

Re: Diamond is getting old... What are you replacing it with?

I want a phone the same size or pretty close to the diamond. I noticed that they are just coming out now with better phones processor and memory wise than the diamond. a lot of the phones have same processor just more memory etc than my phone so waiting quite a bit longer for a new phone. I find the hard buttons on the bottom take up screen real estate on the diamond and telus in canada launched hspa and put towers up in my area so I will be stuck on 1x at my house until I get hspa phone.

I really wanted to go with GSM company when I got my phone. but in my area people hate them so much (r) and no towers in my area.

and the problems with CDMA at least on the 2 cdma phones I have had recently. are not capable of switching from 1x to evdo without interrupting the internet connection and both of the phones I have had will kill the battery any time there is no signal to the phone. (no coverage) which can be a problem since there are big "gaps" in coverage all over where I live.
