HTC WiFi Router

Hi All, two quick questions: can sprint tell if you are sharing your data when using the new HTC WiFi router? and, 2) when they say Sense Rom, what exactly is the Sense part? I just flashed with the newes OJ Sense yesterday and am curious. I had Mighty Rom before, on windows 6.1.

Thanks all!

Re: HTC WiFi Router

In response to your first question... Yes they can tell... The real question is... What plan do you have and does it include unlimited data... If so... You really have no worries.

The second question is a bit trickier. I woul ask the chef directly. However, having said that... I would venture to guess that sense is a play on words and has to do with Tuch. But just a big guess on my part as I use the stock Sprint ROM.

Hope that helps and hope you get a more concrete answer.

Sense refers to the user interface, which is an extension of manila tf3d ...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTC_Sense

If you want to make sure that all of your tethering (usb, wi-fi,bt) is not visible to Sprint, you should make a few reg edits ...

HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing (delete “extension”)

HKLM\Comm\InternetSharing\Settings
MaxCMConnectRetries = 0
ForceCellConnection = Sprint

HKLM\Software\OEM\WModem
CheckProfile = 0
Multi-NAI = 0
WModemDUN = 0

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\InternetSharing
LastCellConnection = Sprint

Re: HTC WiFi Router

Sense is the next progression of Touch Flo.

HTC formally called their Windows Mobile UI overlay Touch Flow (Touch Flow 2D, Touch Flo 3D, Touch Flow 3D version 2.1, etc.) they re-branded this UI overlay from Touch Flow to Sense... I believe this was done as a way to re-use the same touch flo interface on Android but to give it a new name so the android owners didn't turn up their noses due to it's association with windows mobile.

On the Diamond you'll typically see:
TF3D - Stock UI
TF3D 2.1 - I don't remember all the changes but a few notable ones for me was the ability to re-configure the tabs and a much improved calendar.
Sense 2.1 - Adds weather animation to home screen, agenda view to the calendar and a more usable email tab
Sense 2.5 - Adds quick links to home screen and a number of other tweaks I don't remember.

I prefer Sense 2.1 due to it's combination of performance and functionality.
