Disable vibrate for back / home / search buttons?

Any way to disable the feedback vibration on the back / home / search buttons and still keep the vibrate for everything else on?

nope, that's a hardware feature by design to notify one that those buttons have been pressed, there also is no way to disable the backlight on those buttons as well. all the newer HTC phones with capacitive buttons are designed this same way.

Re: Disable vibrate for back / home / search buttons?

That blows, not a deal breaker though.

There should be an option to turn off, but I understand why it is that way.

Although I love the Arrive and I'm very impressed with WP7, I miss the customization from WinMo 6.5.X.
Can't wait til custom ROM's start showing up.

I believe when some of us say "customization" it does not mean custom roms.

It means simple customizing of the device through turning on or off certain features, adding your own ring tones, background photos, etc...

YES, there is a need for customization on Windows iPhones, but again, Microsoft doesn't allow it. "Do it our way, or not at all...."

as for what the OP asked about that is an HTC feature NOT MS how I know is because all the latest HTC Android phones have this feature too,the exact same thing. mango is bringing custom ringtones and an ability to adjust what runs in the background or not (something that cannot be done in Android without consequence, im always seeing complaints about ATK). u can already adjust the background picture on the lock screen, there's also an app that allows customization of tiles so u can put whatever u want on them . as for the "our way or not at all " this is not the case, yea of course there are restrictions in the beginning but this was all so they can provide a stable, user friendly experience out of the box they learned their lesson with WM by not allowing OEMS to build they own shells because it seriously bogs down the OS, this is probly the case in Android too as a stock Android shell runs faster and more stable than an Android with HTC sense or touchWIZ. its all about being able to turn ur phone on to do specific things with as little waiting as possible and wp7 allows that. so yup proved u wrong in all 3 of the threads u quoted/baited me in and im not even trying to fight u or bait back, not sure what ur intentions are. could've easily said something productive without putting me in it.
