Angry No Skydrive Sync for Office Documents

Having no access to a Sharepoint Server, I would have thought that I could at least sync my documents with Skydrive - no dice. The only thing that you can sync with Skydrive is OneNote - just "List All" OneNote documents, and click Refresh. That's a pretty slick solution for my notes, but what gives with the glaring omission for sync'ing Excel/Word/Powerpoint documents?

After running a few searches, the only provision for loading these documents onto your phone is to:

1) Email it as an attachment
2) Access Skydrive via the web browser, and download it

At least when I had a removable SD card, it was easy enough for me to load, and backup documents. This is a pretty glaring omission MS, especially when WP7 was aimed squarely at the average Consumer demographic - how many average users has their documents on a Sharepoint Server?

On a side-rant, I can't copy/paste a cell in Excel. Really?....

Re: No Skydrive Sync for Office Documents

I use windows live mesh on my pc to sync files automatically with skydrive. you can then access those files on skydrive. isnt much different but saves you from the step of emailing the file.

Re: No Skydrive Sync for Office Documents

Yeah, the "Productiveness" of Windows Mobile has been shed until Microsoft updates the 'usefulness' of WP7. (Fingers crossed that 'Mango' will add said Cloud features)

They really targeted the Consumer and have left the 'business oriented' users out in the cold. (For now anyways, well other than them pushing Windows Mobile into the 'Rugged PDA/phone/scanner' market -Motorola ES400 S.)

Re: No Skydrive Sync for Office Documents

How do we upload our Excel and Word documents to the Skydrive from our computer? What is the web address?

Re: No Skydrive Sync for Office Documents

The first result on Google is skydrive.live.com

I use the free version of SDExplorer: SDExplorer - Fast and Easy Access to Your Live SkyDrive storage from Windows Explorer
It gives a folder synced with Skydrive, allowing you to easily copy files.
