Arrive bebore Returning for a HTC EVO 4G (Android

Just got a Sprint HTC Window 7 phone. This was suppose to be my upgrade from my HTC Pro 2. How does everyone like to the Android O/S vs. Win 6.2 or Win Phone (if you had one).

I am not liking the Window 7 O/S. The phone is lighting fast w/ older 1gh Snapdragon processor. However, there are not enough Techy stuff, Bells & Whistles.

Can't get to or add any files. No removal memory of memory. I would like to have 32g.

I am thinking of returning my Win 7 phone today in exchange for a Sprint HTC EVO 4g and save a $100.

With most things depending on the cloud there's really no reason to have tons of space. For example u can just stream music from Zune without having to download it and u can upload alot of things to SkyDrive but however SkyDrive at the moment doesn't support sync for anything other than pics but it will soon. The OS will evolve if we all stick it through. But jumping ship and not providing feedback to MS won't do anything.

Re: Arrive bebore Returning for a HTC EVO 4G (Android

You can upgrade the Arrive to 32GB by swapping the internal SD card:
Memory upgrade on HTC 7 PRO - xda-developers

With a few registry tweaks, you can also copy files from windows explorer: Use your Windows Phone 7 device as a portable USB drive | MobileTechWorld

I do miss how customizable my Touch Pro was, but WP7 should get better if you're willing to wait.

Re: Arrive bebore Returning for a HTC EVO 4G (Android

I use my Arrive for making calls, checking e-mails, some web surfing and listening to music. A lot of my needs are business based; I can do without all the "bells and whistles" of the iPhone and Android devices....

It seems Microsoft stayed true to the old "KISS" system - Keep It Simple, Stupid.

What kind of techie stuff would you like to do? I too upgraded from a TP2 and so far the only thing that I'm a little bummed about is that it seems like the speakerphone on the TP2 is clearer. Have you noticed any difference with sound quality?

This thread has been around for a couple days now and he hasn't posted anything back to it. Almost like he bailed out.

Re: Arrive bebore Returning for a HTC EVO 4G (Android

I just got the device as an upgrade from my HTC Touch Pro 2, there are definitely some short comings to the device compared to my old phone. I miss the ability to tether and use it as a flash drive, vibrate on new text without sound etc... but all these little issues will be fixed in time. Also once Nodo gets unlocked ("jailbroken") as well many of these missing features will be added. If anyone is undecided about the arrive, the benefits far outweigh the few missing features so unless there is something you cant live without (like tethering) and cant wait a little for it to come out, I would definitely consider the phone.

Re: Arrive bebore Returning for a HTC EVO 4G (Android

HERE is a workaround that will allow any wp7 device to be used as a USB drive. However it only works on computers with the Zune software installed otherwise ull have to enter in all those registry values manually.

Yours won't vibrate on a new text? I'm 100% sure it should be able to do that.

Use the volume rocker on the left side to send the volume down to zero and voila, your phone will now vibrate with no sound when you get a text message.
