Activesync dropping connection

I am having a frustrating problem.

I connect my PPC to two computers my laptop and my home PC. the connection with my laptop is fine, no problems there ever. But whenever I try to connect to my home PC, it will drop the connection as soon as the first syncronization occurs. it goes like this:

1) connect PPC via USB
2) ActiveSync recognizes the PPC and starts up
3) ActiveSync connects, begins sync
4) Sync finishes (progress bar fills all the way up)
5) Activesync text changes to "Not Connected"

At that point, I can't resync my device. I have to unplug and reconnect not once, but twice. the first time, activesync will say that it can't establish a connection and will give me the option to troubleshoot (the troubleshooting doesn't help). The second time I reconnect, it will find it, but it goes through the whole process again.

I am using ActiveSync 4.5 and am running Saridnour's ROM (the latest pr6 version). If you need a list of the apps I have installed, I can do that.

Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Ive had this problem on a bad ROM flash. I cannot narrow it down to what specifically is the root cause of the issues, but I reflashed my device with the same ROM, and seemed to have fixed my issues.

I had a similar issue too but I have never used custom ROMs... I ended up doing a hard reset cause I was having some other odd issues...

Try another PC as well, does the problem follow the PPC or stay at the PC side?
