Flashing with Vista

I've searched the forums, but can't find a concrete answer. I'm using Windows Vista with Mobile Device Center 6.1 and I'm having a problem flashing. Has anyone sucessfully done this? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Re: Flashing with Vista

I use Vista ultimate daily and don't have problems with it. I must say I think I'm the only one on the geeks who can say that. I have seen lots of problems come from Vista, and a lot of people who had no clue blame a lot of things on Vista. Have you gone to Microsoft and updated you Mobile device center? I think you can do it HERE. Thats the only thing I have done.

Re: Flashing with Vista

Some people have gotten flashing to work on a Vista machine by running the program in "XP Compat Mode" (right click)...if they cant find a XP machine.

But always check to make sure you are really up to date with Vista just like Lsme420 stated.

Re: Flashing with Vista

I too flash with vista no problems. As others have said make sure you install windows mobile device center. No need to run the flash app in compatibility mode or anything, it works fine. Even the unlocker tools and such work fine.

Re: Flashing with Vista

I have Vista Business at work and BuildOS fails every time. I have everything updated. I can run flash utils in compatability mode and they work fine, but BuildOS has never worked for me in Vista. I haven't tried too hard though because I also have an XP machine that is pretty much dedicated to ROM flashing now...

Re: Flashing with Vista

I had problems until I started running BuildOS as administrator. All problems went away.
