Alltel to Verizon Switch - Data Plan Issues

I searched a bit and didn't find anything related to my situation. I hope this is the right forum...

I'm an Alltel customer being assimilated by the Borg, er... Verizon. I received the lovely text message to do a *228. I did this. My phone (HTC Apache) works great but I get the dreaded "Error Code 37" message when I try to access the web. I scoured the forums for that error and did everything I could to get the data to work but was unsuccessful.

I called Verizon. They told me to leave the phone on for 24-48 hours and to make sure not to power off the phone. It would supposedly be updated by them I guess. I smell a trap just to keep me off their back for a few days.

Does anybody else have a similar experience?

It wouldn't update on its own. Call back again and keep calling till you get someone who knows what they are talking about. Also do a *228 option 2. I don't know what error that is.

Re: Alltel to Verizon Switch - Data Plan Issues

Thanks for the reply. I forgot about having to do this:

It looks like the alltel.net is going to stay around for quite some time.
