Exchange activesync: Disconnect after sync ?

I have a XV6800 with WM 6.1 on it all works pretty well and I use the data connection to do a wireless sync from a 2003 Exchange server. All works good but....

What I would like to do is have activesync (on WM), to connect, sync device with server then disconnect from the data connection after it's complete.

What happens now, is it will connect, sync and then data will stay on. The problem is I only like to leave it on when I need it because it kills the battery life on the machine.

Is there a setting someplace that I overlooked ?
