Is Google still destroying my contact photos, and is there a fix ?
 

All photos on my incoming calls look like total POS. As I understand this is a problem on Google contacts end ? Is there a known fix ?

Are you syncing your contacts with any other app such as YouMail, etc?

Because this is my first Android phone and I would think that the people who's used them for a while would know if the problem is on Google's end, or my end.

The only time I've had the contact photos change, is when I added Youmail. Do you sometimes sync an old phone?

No. It's not changing the picture itself, but rather it's changing the high-res photos to really low-res ones that look awful on the incoming call screen.

I have never been able to fix it. I think it's on google's side

Yeah, the contact pictures are basically thumbnails. I edited mine so they are more like a passport photo (head and shoulders), and not too close up on their face.

yeah, this has been an issue since the beginning of Android....
