QR Code Contact Information (vCard, MeCard)

I am trying to read contact information from a QR Code with either MeCard or vCard contact information encoded into it. The codes are read but when I go to save the contact information Android is not parsing it correctly. The First and Last names are both put into the First Name field and the entire address (city state and zip) is in the street address field. I have tried several different encoders as well as several different readers (Barcode Scanner, I-nigma & QuickMark) all with the same results. I even tried encoding the raw vcard data into a QR Code instead of relying on the contact fields that the QR Code generator used.

Has anyone had success with this?

I'm wondering if this might be an issue with Android not properly parsing vCard or MeCard data correctly and not have anything to do with the QrCodes but I haven't tested yet. I am using a Samsung Epic so 2.1 OS.
