Re: Link for verizon issue

Don't load WMDC, just connect the phone to the computer and wait for the computer to recognize the device and install the drivers. Then run the HardSPL Manual exe.

If you have WMDC installed already it should have come with the drivers. If you plug the phone in and it does not recognize it as a new device do the following to be sure:
1 - Reboot the desktop
2 - (If Vista go have lunch while it reboots! LOL)
3 - Plug the phone in via USB (DO NOT START WMDC!!!)
4 - Wait for the computer to recognize the device and install the drivers. The Phone might ask what kind of connection, select Activesync and done. (If drivers do not appear to install or the computer does not recognize it at all look for the updated version of WMDC, My old Vista needed this, Win7 does not. It comes with the drivers for most phones).
5 - Run the HSPL manual package, but have a copy of the stock rom for your carrier handy on the desktop (You can download it from PPCGeeks). Sometime you need to reflash the rom after the SPL flash.

You do not need to be connected via WMDC to flash a phone in fact I never run WMDC except for when I want to SYNC.

To Test:
6 - after the SPL flash, if the phone sits on initial screen try going into bootloader mode. Hold down the power and vol down buttong and use the stylus to reset. The phone should come up with the tricolor screen which means the phone is unlocked.
7 - Flash the stock ROM for your carrier and device first (do not try custom yet) and make sure that the phone works. Do all the programming for your carrier (vzw *228 1, *228 2) to make sure it gets all the initial settings and PRL and then you can play with the custom roms. I always reprogram the phone after every rom flash just to be sure all the proper settings are made to the new system.
