First of all, check if you're in a EVDO area, if you are and it's under warranty the wisest is to send it back.
If you're not under warranty, check EVDO parameters on EPST are the right ones, also check PRL version is the one that corresponds to your area.

Re: cannot work in the hybrid mode ?(evdo & 1x)

"1X" is used for phone calls. If you use "EVDO only," you can surf the internet and make outgoing calls fine, but your phone will never pick up incoming calls. The best you can do is make an outgoing call - at which point you'll finally be notified of all the messages you have waiting. This has been my experience with two different phones in a major metropolitan area (meaning, it's not a coverage issue).

Re: cannot work in the hybrid mode ?(evdo & 1x)

I see. If you're friends don't have network problems in the area and the Radio or ROM you're using isn't known to have that issue, then I have to agree with O'Neil.
