Need help choosing an upgrade - Newbie here....

Hi. I am new here and have been reading the forum for the last week or so. I am amazed at what people are creating here, i had no idea! I found this place through a link from someone explaining how to install the radio, which i really want, but now I see so many improvements that sound helpful i would love to download one of the ROMs. But am not sure which would work best for me.

I am looking for something fairly basic that doesn't remove too much of the pretty factor of the touchflo stuff or other pretty looking stuff on the stockware (some removal is ok), but I would like the radio and improvements like louder earpiece, vibrate on button touch, 1% battery level, the ability to turn off programs in the background that eat up battery, things that fix poorly built apps, and other of the wonderful apps and enhancements people are adding. My Diamond is arriving trmw, i'm so excited. . i am on sprint and coming from a sammy m520.

i am new to this type of unlocking, flashing etc, so i won't be able to make minor changes to any ROMs.

Thoughts on what rom i should use? juicy/mikes/groove/others. I see there are a few that have been made and i just don't know which one would be best.

Thanks for any input.

also, what does manila mean. i can't seem to figure that out.

Most of what you desire can be achieved through registry edits, and I would suggest you try a few ROMs.

Each ROM has its strengths and weaknesses. I'll let others chime in here as I am clearly biased.

Manila = TouchFlo3D UI

unlocking & flashing are not very difficult, just be sure to read thoroughly & take your time.

regedits are also a piece of cake, once you do it one time you'll get the hang of it.

I sent u a pm w/ links but you'll have to flash you radio seperately, I would do it after unlocking, prior to flashing a custom as it will hard reset ya.

good luck
