New life for Android on Apache?

http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/15/a...ly-as-october/

Considering that the 1.6 sdk supports CDMA and HTC is making an android phone with a QVGA resistive screen, could this mean fully functional Android on the Apache? I'm no software programmer, but the only road bumps I see are power management and older EvDo radio.

Any thoughts on this?

Re: New life for Android on Apache?

I'm sure the new HTC hardware is way different from our 5 year old crappy apaches, however it should make porting it over way much easier then making it work from scratch like before.

me, I'm excited, I can't do the new updates for the original method of booting android (linux isn't something I do very well) so I'll be awaiting progress. I just hope people still have enough interest to port it.

Re: New life for Android on Apache?

As much fun as it would be to have a 6 year old phone running the most recent update of Android (that isn't sarcasm in the slightest), I will be in line for a Hero as soon as Sprint sets them free. Holy freakin' crap I want that phone so bad.

I will always smile fondly when remembering the 'good 'ol days' of my 6700.
