Hoover... isn't blackjack2 a Samsung phone? Did you visit the Samsung website for software updates? I'd look there first...
BTW, I agree that the "good news" response to your query was total cr*p... and should be deleted from this thread.

The update is now available on the Samsung web site, and the instructions are not that complex. The modem drivers are only pre-loaded in case of a flash failure. You could put the phone in diagnostics mode and have Windows recognize it correctly.
The update takes about ten minutes. I applied it to four phones today without any issues. I haven't had much time to test it, though.

I was greedy and applied the fix a few days ago. I'm not impressed and it was more trouble than its worth; reloading all my programs and customization. Also, I don't know about you, but a lot of the "bugs" that I had when I first got the BJII all came back; like the alarm clock sometimes not working or the internet connection (ATT 3g) sometimes not working and requiring lots of reboots. Over time, they went away and the phone became more stable on WM6, I guess it will take a few more reboots and weeks for this one too, I'm not impressed with WM 6.1 (GPS wasn't any faster either).
