Help: Start icon stays white and won't regain color
When I first got my Omnia 2 (Bell Canada) I am positive - absolutely positive - that the small Windows icon in the upper left corner beside the "Start" menu was in color. Sometime shortly after installing SPB Mobile Shell (may be unrelated) I noticed that it has now changed to being all solid white, all the time, no matter what. I've uninstalled SPB, tried changing themes, rebooting, enabling/disabling Touchwiz etc, and nothing has worked. Does anyone have any idea what would be causing this to occur? I did no registry hacks or tweaks or anything else of that nature. It just suddenly started appearing all white all the time.
Cany anyone help..? |

Did you install a custom taskbar? There is also a cab that will change the X to a larger one and change your wait cursor that will make the start button white.

Nope the only things I installed are Google Maps and SPB Mobile Shell. It's still pretty early on.. if I hard reset will I lose anything from the firmware? On this other site it says I might lose "3rd party programs installed by the carrier". But aren't those just part of the Bell ROM? I'll only lose things that I installed myself, right?

that's odd. Mine has always been white (i have the Verizon i920 though)

Well, I did a master reset (needed to anyway) and the icon is still solid white, so maybe I'm just losing my mind and it was always that way to begin with. Perhaps it was one of my other WinMo phones that was confusing me with the classic multi-colour logo and I just mixed them up...
