Will the LED ever work for notifications rather than for debug?

Just wondering because it's the only reason I don't use Android full-time.. I need the ability to be able to glance at my phone to check for new notification during school and work rather than actually powering the screen on.

Dont think there is a real ETA on it as the Devs are putting all there Dev Powers into getting this to be fully functional (i.e camera, BT) The LED is probably the last thing on there minds right now!

I believe they have notifications working just fine. The thing is, they are using the LED's for debugging all sorts of things (mostly sleep and power management stuff right now). Once they don't need the LED's for debugging, they will return them to notifications.

Indeed. There was also an app called LEDEffects for my RAPH that let me customize how the notifications were displayed to me... I am not sure if that was ever moved/ported to the RHOD...

maybe you should just worry more about work and school, instead of being able to check your phone during either...

could put your device on vibrate and youll never NOT know when you got a message... if LEDs is the only thing stopping you from using XDAndroid, then your missing out..

Re: Will the LED ever work for notifications rather than for debug?

Good to hear that the LEDs do in fact work for more than just debugging. I've always wondered lol i've tried using LEDeffects to disable and configure the LEDs for notifications but no-go. i love using android the tp2..it's really the only thing allowing me to wait for wp7 & i appreciate all the work the devs have done. i do realize that the led is minor and there's much bigger projects to be finished first, i'll just continue switching between wm and droid during work/school.
