Question HELP [please..] (involving a root method for eris)

okay, i'm not completely new to computers or to HTC for that matter, i am however having issues with rooting my eris. i'm stuck on the fact i can't use my scroll-ball which i need to use amons recovery and root.. ironic, i know. i know there are ways to control your phone in the 'adb shell' through sdk's program...

can* anyone assist me in making the phone scroll down without the scroll-ball working(through adb), or, simply get it to load my new [rooted] rom so that i can work with this crap[eris]*??

*and i would post this under the eris' forum but we all know how dead that is, in the month that evo has been out it has over 40000x as many posts as the eris..*

If I'm following you right, your in recovery trying to navigate using the trackball. You have to use the volume keys to navigate up and down when in recovery mode. Hope this helps.

I know with my Hero, I think I had to use the trackball when in Recovery so I assume the Eris is the same way. Even if you get the volume keys to work, I don't know how you would select. Try Wide's way and maybe the call-send button to select....I know you can do these things through ADB if you have that set up. I have the commands somewhere, if you need them I'll try and find them.
