Re: Does Setcpu really work?

I played with is for about a month and never felt like I was gaining much. I flashed one of the SBC kernels and got a lot more for my money.

It does work. If it didn't then I would have thrown mine through the window. This program makes my evo so awesome.

I have all the Sensed ones on my phone. The Havs, LessHavs, Agressive, etc. Since they are small, I just put them all on the card.

I would run one for a day and then flash another, trying to compare. Think I am on the Non-Hav now. They all work but I don't see that much difference between each of them.

Re: Does Setcpu really work?

I gained about 4-5 hours of battery life it SetCPU. When I was using it my setup was as follows:

(I don't remember the exact Mhz settings but this should be close.)
Screen on: 614-1000
Screen off: 245-499
Battery less than 20%: 245-499
Charging: 1000

Also, my phone did not auto detect correct when I was setting it up so I have to manually select the Nexus One/Snapdragon setting. Also had to disable Perflock in the program as well. Once those two things were done, it worked great. There was a little lag when I'd turn the screen on when the CPU would throttle up but thats it.

Hope this helps!

I flashed one of those new kernels as well and SetCPU seemed to make the battery life worse with it.

The kernel should get you better life but if you run SetCPU wring it can definitely make battery life worse and screw up your phone. I was experimenting with it and tried some very agreesive values and I could barely move my screen. Had to reboot and get in and reset it. It was actually a little scary.
