sync question

I was wondering if any one knows how to sink wm5/wm6 calender and contacts with mozilla thunder bird? Is there an active sync like alternative worth checking out? Im not a big fan of MS Outlook or active sync and would love to get rid of both programs!!

Ive seen a couple of programs listed when I google activesync thunderbird. Ive tried one so far and was sorely disappointed because it didnt seem to do anything. Im kinda in the same problem. I tried using Outlook for a while and just kept getting pissed off because (like WM6) it doesnt actually close when you X it. I hides in the background eating up memory.

So now Im trying to find an outlookless sync system.

Normally, Outlook will close completely unless ActiveSync keeps it open, which it will do if your device remains connected.
