Prevent screen from locking while runing specific apps

Anyone has an idea how i could prevent the phone from locking when using google maps, so i could use as a gps in my car? Also, unrelated but, anyone know of an app to sync facebook picture and birthdays with your contacts. Thanks a lot.

Turn off display timeout when you charge it in the power settings.

Good idea but i'm not using a charger in my car as of right now

Doesn't PocketShield do that (allow specific apps to unlock or remain unlocked)? It's really the best thing for TP.

Ok disable it when you fire up Google Maps first for being off the charger.
