I live on the far outskirts of Tucson where EVDO and 1x bounce back and forth indiscriminately. Naturally, EVDO seems to give better results and I agree that TellMe seems to process over the network. But I can't count on a locked-in connection. When I get down to 1 bar on 1X hardly anything works... including this. But I'm used to that. It teaches me humility. For what it's worth, if I use TellMe from my car and I've crossed the imaginary boundaryline to EVDOland with 4 bars, everything works perfectly...

Maybe its the beta status but i never had an issue with Vlingo unless I practically lost all data. Hopefully this will get much better

On my vogue with NSFFan's 6.5 latest release I show VC as version 1.6.21859. None of the cabs for VC versions people say it works on will let me install them. Still no Tell me recognition.

ok.... why cant we get something that doesn't need a data connection to work?
dragon naturally speaking has been arround since the dx66 desktop
im sure were all running faster processors than 66mhz
a 4gig memory card is more space than imagineable at that time too

why the heck do all these new apps require a data connection??

I'm still not convinced $500/yr for any of these apps is worth it to me.
even if I did choose to donate to all of them for their real development worth i'd be short of the $500. (for the 3-5 apps i'd buy)
let alone having to pay it again next year to continue using the programs.

Id love something that desn't need a data connection for speech to text on a device that should be completely capable...from the factory.

I guess youll all haveto wait for me to get off the road before I reply to a text or email... my boss & customers too.
not cause I'm cheap... but beause I dont care to give the telecoms 15x the $ value for basic data that gets lost in the regular data stream after the tower

Re: TellMe!!!

Anybody got it to work on a Vogue with NFSFAN 6.5 ROM's? After reading the thread it kinda' looks like it installs fine but doesn't recognize speech after "Listening". A newer version of VC is cooked into the ROM and I've also installed 2 older versions listed in this thread without success...

If anyone does have any luck with the Vogue please let us know. Thx.
