implementing a dumb phone feature to save battery
The two non pda phones i've had (samsung upstage and A900) had this feature where if the phone could not find a signal for too long, it would go in this idle mode where it would not keep looking for a signal until you woke up the phone
There's got to be a way to implement this for WinMo. Most of my battery drain comes from being in a room with no signal and the phone just racks up the amps looking for a signal like a mad man. Is there a way to tell it to stop after x number of minutes? |

i think you mean airplane mode
when i take the subway, i put my phone in airplane mode, and it disables the search for a signal |

Re: implementing a dumb phone feature to save battery
exactly what adrian said. The phone should be smart enough to stop trying after a while until you wake up the phone or something. any kind of app that puts the phone in airplane mode automatically would work perfectly.

Yea it would be nice to work with GPS coordinate, if not move then stay in air plane mode. Good application to save battery.
