Re: New Trapster now available (oct. 12)

I tried this a few weeks ago and found it cumbersom. I like the idea of incorporating this with tomtom. It would be great if you could have something like this on your radar detector/navigation device... HTC any plans to add radar detector capabilities to your new phones? LOL.
I used Wase too and liked it while I collected those little points... then it became pointless. I only saw one other wazer the whole time I tried it. And where there was traffic I had to report it. Wase was a waste. lol.
We need one device that does it all... Comeonnnnn........ HTC. lol.
Just my thoughts.

Brave of you to be a Raider fan in enemy territory! I can't stand the Chargers...silver and black all the way.

As for the whole one device for everything...I absolutely concur!

but, now, I'm off topic.

I only with the screen would automatically orient in the direction you are driving. It's weird to see you going backwards (down) on the screen!

Re: New Trapster now available (oct. 12)

I can't believe people are still talking about this. Aside from what I said beofore...

Cops decide where their own speed traps are...and they change them all the time. Just because you report a speed trap doesn't mean that there is EVER going to be a cop there again. They could me a mile or two up the road, or on the other side of the road, in an un-marked car...anywhere.

There is NOTHING stopping cops from logging on to this service and reporting all the fake speed traps they want. <<< USE YOUR HEAD PEOPLE GET A RADAR D-TEC

Ugh have you even tried trapster? It has notifications for different reports. It displays LIVE speed trap reports. as in, if someone sees a speed trap, they report it and it stays live for an hour with a special symbol. If another person sees it within the hour and reports it again, it'll stay open for a little longer. Afterwards, it turns into a regular voting system. You don't seem to understand that if a certain spot is reported many times, then it obviously is a local favorite for cops to sit.

In my area and around my college (in another city), there are in fact designated spots where cops always go to. It's a warning system and if you don't like it, don't use it. But don't come in here acting like we're all stupid for using it. You don't even understand how it works!

Re: New Trapster now available (oct. 12)

Radar detecs are illegal in my state too...but... we have one for when we travel "out of state"...

Used trapster for about a week...not quite as smooth and seamless as an app of this type to be, esp for the driver to handle. Maybe good for a passenger to be "co-piloting" but the wife would rather sleep.

Using this on a mount doesn't seem very feasible since the buttons in the app are small...so on the go reporting does not work out quite right.

Majority of the traps were there at one time or another...and if you look at the map of your frequented areas...you'll notice the "hot zones" where the police or high way patrol like to set up. MAY NOT be the exact spots everytime, but within the half to quarter mile stretch seems reasonable.
