Out of the two I definitly prefer Palringo, but I wish there were a better option. IM+ seems nice, but is pretty expensive for an IM client (especially considering I only really need AIM support) and imo AIM 2.0 sorta sucks. There was a great freeware AIM client on PalmOS called Toccer, I wish something simular existed for WM. My biggest comlaint with both platforms is that they won't sort AIM contacts by their groups.

I wonder if Trillian will release their client for free? The good IM tools all seem to come at a pretty high cost, considering they're typically free programs on other platforms.

I love Palringo, just wish there were more options for AIM, MSN, etc.... Like I wish I could minimize offline contacts.

+1 for Octro

I don't use/need the voice IM thing for palringo and I find their interface a little clunky/cluttered, whereas Octro is much more simple imo.

Octro is good if you need a straight up IM client for: AIM, Gtalk, MSN. It does files transfers, photo support and VOIP.

Your comparing apples and oranges, Palringo is a PTT program with a very first stage IM program while Octro is a robust IM program.

I don't use the PTT feature in Palringo and I still prefer it.. for me, the interface is just better.

I agree, and i didn't find Octro that "robust". I like the slimmed down features of Palringo, easty to use interface, no clutter, easy options.
