I've just installed the latest version of vTap, but I can't get it to play any videos at all. I've got TCPMP 0.81 installed and vTap 0.119 on a Sprint Mogul. vTap is really good at finding videos, but when I click the "Play" tab it appears to load the video and then just stops. The video never plays. I don't see any obvious buttons to click at that point to tell it to start, so I assume that it's just supposed to do so automatically. But it never does.

Later Edit: Never mind, I fixed it by reinstalling vTap.

Now, is there anything that can be done to get the audio and video in sync?

Gilliland - I work for Veveo who provide the vTap service. You are running a vTap client that is slightly old. Coul dyou download the latest version by pointing the browser on your phone to www.vtap.com? This will fix the problem you are facing. We have fixed a problem that will occur if you have tcpmp installed with vTap. Also note that even after installing the latest vTap client, you will have to exit tcpmp before trying to play clips with vTap(http://www.vtap.com/faq.html#rq7).
I hope this helps!!!

I also checked to make sure all other apps were closed with no luck. Looks like a cool program...it just needs to play the videos it finds. :)

xandrake - I work for Veveo who provide the vTap client. I am sorry you have having this problem. I have a coup.e of questions for you...
1 - What type of phone do you have
2 - Which version of the vTap client do you have installed (can check by going to Tools/About within the vTap client).

Hopefully we can get this worked out..

Thanks

Thanks, aalvino. As you suggested, reinstalling the latest version of vTap from the site did resolve my difficulty.

I'd like to reiterate my last question, though: Is there anything that can be done to get the audio and video to sync correctly? I realize that this isn't solely vTap's problem - other players seem to have the same synchronization issue. But it would be nice if we could get a player that would allow these videos to sync correctly. The players on our desktop/laptop machines manage to do it, so it should be possible on the handheld units as well.

Gilliland - I am glad to hear that you can now play the clips. We are actively looking into what we can do to improve the performance as it relatest to the video/audio sync that you are seeing. When I have a furhter update, I will post back here.

get the new tpcmp

I prefer the tpcmp with the new flash pack installed better and u can play videos just by clickin on them instead of being limited to what vztap can find and it also lets you download any video to your phone.I haven't tried to download the youtube videos yet but ill let u guys know

I love this. I can't get the damn flashvideo to work with TCPMP and it's pissed me off, to the point where I had given up on youtube, but now, I can finally watch Youtube on my Mogul! W00T!

The only issue I have is that the Wikipedia tab is horrifically slow and keeps freezing. I'm running the latest version I just downloaded today.

I just installed it on my Mogul with latest ROM. Searching is excellent, I can always find what I'm looking for. Playing is a little on and off though. Sometimes the video will buffer quickly and begin playing, but most of the time it will just go up to a percentage and then stop buffering indefinitely. Letting it sit doesn't do anything. To resolve this I have to cancel and play again and sometimes it'll buffer quickly and play, other times it will just get stuck on some arbitrary percentage again.

I have TCPMP installed, but it isn't open. Soft reset doesn't seem to help either. No other programs running except Activesync.

Hello All.. We have posted a new version of the vTap client. This version has a number of bug Fixes:
1 - Storage Card - Previously if you requested vTap to be installed on a storage card, it would still get installed into the main memory of the phone. This has been fixed, and vTap will now be installed onto the storage card.
2 - Double Icon - Previosly when installing vTap, there would be 2 icons created in the Programs folder. Now after installing, there should be only one icon.
3 - Proxy Issue - There was an issue when connecting through some proxies where you would not be able to play clips. An error would be reported indicating the resolved clip is empty. This issue has been resolved.

You can install the latest version of the vTap client by pointing the browser on your phone to www.vtap.com, and downloading the appropriate application.
