rk-SMS Switch: Possible ‘Push LIKE mail’

Did a search here and couldn't find anything, so figured I'd share it with you all. Big thanks to tytnguy over at XDA for this.

I was browsing over at xda and found this little gem that works perfectly. And best of all - its free! Though a donation to the developer is encouraged.

Quote:
Here is my latest application SMS Switch which can trigger a command line based on the SMS received.
Built with the idea of ‘Push LIKE mail’ where the device gets the SMS notification on ‘New mail’ from your email service. rk-SMS Switch intercepts the SMS and based on the SMS sender and/or message text executes the command line (such as \Windows\tmail.exe) to synchronize the emails.

Man, you beat me too it. Came here to see if anyone has tried this program also.

Discovered this program over the weekend, so far its been working great. By midnight yesterday, my battery was @ 55% (usually at that time: 15%-20%, off the charger since 7am)

When using with his other program, rk-OSR, you can "Push Like" sync Outlook AND Exchange servers.

pretty cool.

Re: rk-SMS Switch: Possible ‘Push LIKE mail’

Indeed - I'm surprised not many have responded. I used to always see people complaining about lack of enough 'push' options. I used to use a program just like this one called pusheffect, only I had to pay for it. This does the exact same thing, except much much cheaper

Not to mention the fact that its purpose isn't just for push mail support. It's an SMS trigger service that can execute any command depending on your parameters. Haven't played too much with it, but I plan on getting facebook txts to automatically refresh the wm facebook app.

Anybody think of other stuff to do with it?
