Google Voice?

Does anyone have or use Google Voice?

For some reason, it's no longer sending texts to my cell O.o

Re: Google Voice?

go to settings (top right hand side of your G-voice page you'll see a link), then in the notifications portion check the box next to the phone number that you want a text notification sent to.

Re: Google Voice?

well, sometimes my text come in a min or so later... (atleast it feels that way) but they still come in...

U should send them feedback directly on the issue.

btw google voice doesn't support short-code's yet... incase tho's are the types of text ur not receiving.... like for example "text LOVE to 6332 for a free trip to asbury park, NJ" or " New Message from 003333 Screen name PYT1991: HEY!" lol

also check that you have your mobile device marked as the 'Mobile' phone type.

It's not an ID10-T error....

Everything is correct with the settings. O.o
I've tried everything; removing the number... putting it back. I've tried a different phone... Google voice doesn't forward texts to my cell... *(but it does keep them online... wtf)

There's no google voice program... you get invited to join the beta, and then you set everything up online through the web browser, and then it magically works. No extra apps needed.

Have you fixed your problem yet, @OP?

No, I haven't....

I'm on an Grandfathered Alltel contract with Verizon Wireless

One, you have to have the google voice service to use the app.
Two, I have the HTC touch diamond.

Re: Google Voice?

You don't need a Google Voice App to use the service. Either dial your Google Voice number and then hand-dial the number you're trying to reach... or, simply access the Google Voice mobile webpage. From there you can search and call your contacts, send SMS messages, listen to your voicemail, and check your call logs.

Eventhough I'm somewhat content with that, I would still love a Windows Mobile App that can access the service and make my life easier. I'm clueless when it comes to programming, but if anyone decided to create an App, I'd definitely use it.

Google Voice - How to easily dial out from contacts

1 Attachment(s)
I am sorry if this was covered already, but I was looking for an easy way to dial out from the contacts screen on my phone using my Google Voice number, but could not find anything that would do exactly that. I thought I'd share the method I found to easily do that:

1) In your Google Voice settings, make sure that "Voicemail access" is set to "Yes" with "PIN not required".
2) Install the attached CAB and restart your phone.
3) In your Programs, run CallingCard, and select Menu > Add
4) Fill out as below:

Name: Google Voice
Access#: 1112223333p2 (where 1112223333 is your 10-digit Google Voice number)
Set Insert to "None"
Pin#: # (just the "pound" sign, nothing else)
Set Insert to "None"
Leave Intl. Access # blank
Dial Sequence: Set to "Phone# + Pin"

5) Click Save, select the newly created "Google Voice", and "Activate". That's it!

Now whenever you want to call using your Google Voice number, just browse to your contacts, tap and hold your contact, and select the CallingCard option.

So where do I disable my PIN? There is no such option in the account settings online, and didn't seem to be one in the menus when I call to check my mail either.

Re: Google Voice - How to easily dial out from contacts

It's working great for me... I personally wanted something simple that would let me dial out and integrate well with my phone contacts, and this seems to do the trick.

To modify the voicemail access setting: log-in to your Google Voice account, click on Settings, "Phones" tab, and press "Edit" near your cell phone number. Then click on "Show advanced settings" and you will see the voicemail access settings.

Hope this helps!

Re: Google Voice - How to easily dial out from contacts

Confirmed, this works. Now if I can integrate the "calling card call" into SPB M3, that will be sweet.:laughing3: instead of going through Contacts

I'm having a problem here - I only have one phone and one phone number. When I try to set this up I get a message saying "cellphone numbers cannot be shared across google accounts." So I have to say it's my home phone. I have a dummy number for dsl, but can't use it because of the verification thing. I guess the only thing that won't work is the sms for voice mails, but I sure would like to have that working. Anybody figure this out? TIA - sheureka

umm, last I checked (2min ago) it was still only $10

Get the full version of GVdialer on your mobile.

GVdialer costs only $9.99 as part of an introductory offer for a limited period of time.
GVdialer is not a Googleâ„¢ service.
I'm sure it will be $20 before long..
actually maybe i'll pick up my copy even though I'm not a big fan of it at the moment, but a few more updates should fix that..

Just checked off there site. $9.99 Is a good reasonable offer I guess... I'll give a while before I'll give a go, In that case, wondering how long that limited offer is though...

I saw Craig Walker-- one of the head guys at Google Voice -- dealing with an issue like this on his twitter account. Maybe worth sending him a message. I'm pretty sure his email address is cwalker123@gmail.com
Here's his twitter account too: http://twitter.com/cwalker123

Google Voice - ANOTHER way to dial out?

I did a search on this and poked around some of the other threads and couldn't find anything.

Since there is no official Google app for winmo, there is no easy, bug-free, way of dialing your contacts. Well I have a couple solutions:

1) Use the "406" number to call your contacts. When someone texts you, you will get a reply back from a 406 area code (they may have more than just 406, but that's all I've seen). If you call that number back it will call your contact and show that the call is coming from your Google Voice number.

2) A much more crude way to do it... just add a new phone number to your frequently called contacts with the following format: googlevoicenum+pause+2+pause+contactphone+#

Just go to the Google Voice Mobile website. Thats the easy bugfree way of doing it. Although you need to be syncing your contacts up with google, which I do.

I've tried that 3 or 4 times and it has never worked. The phone I'm calling rings, but when it's picked up I hear my cell phone's (my google voice cell phone) voicemail. It's like the call isn't coming through on my cell phone. Are you using Opera or IE?

I am using Opera and it works. When you are on the mobile web page, make sure you go to Settings and make sure your "My MObile Number" is your cell phone number.

There's a way to dial directly from your contacts via a calling card.

make sure your not in 1x. calls won't come in with active data (data connection can exist, just no traffic)
