New Version of Sprint NAV
 

A new version of Sprint NAV just became available for download. You can download to your device from

http://ota.telenav.com/otadownload/d...product.action

It is TeleNav_Sprint_PPC_5.5.18.cab for HTC Touch Pro (Edit: it also works for Touch Diamond!!).

How come when I open my sprint navigation it doesn't prompt me for an update??? I still have version 2.1.23....

i can't even get the new one to run....I install it and it gives me an error and gets stuck.....

Lock code should be last 4 digits of phone number. Looks like this is the latest TeleNAV version. I had used it in the past. Telenav makes the Sprint branded NAV program. The graphics on this Telenav version are much improved.

You MAY need to go to the TeleNav site and register your number before your PIN will work:

https://signin.telenav.com/tnsso/sso/remindPin.do

After signing up, they'll send you a text. Your PIN as was mentioned will probably be the last 4 digits of your phone number.

loving this new version. higher quality images are definitely a plus. It isn't sprint branded but who cares this looks like a navaigation program should :)

Anyone try this with a Telus TP (Herman)?
- attempting now with Sprint version

How does the application work?: uses data connection to feed data to correspond with GPS location, therefore you need a registered PIN for your device so you can access the data?
- registered and got PIN

Unrar'd the d/l on PC desktop and I'm not seeing an executable or cab to install this application. Suggestions?
- d/l rar to device and execute rar file to install

Working great on Sprint Treo Pro, with realVGA 96dpi. I didnt get it from this post but i got a message to update when i opened the sprint navigation. It took me to a page where you can pick which version you want do dowload.

Sorry - I know this has been covered, but I forget if SERO plans include Sprint Navigation. I keep hearing conflicting reports. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I see now, it depends how you navigate to it from the ota menu he posted. If you choose Sprint Nav you get 2.1.23. If you choose Telenav, then Sprint, then HTC, you get 5.5.18 or whatever it is.

I'm confused. OP indicated there was an update (which there was, my sprint nav asked if I wanted to download it) and then posted a different CAB in the OP.

I downloaded the cab in post #1.
It downloaded and ask to reset device. ok.
Powered on and screen came up with my ph # and I had to input my name which I did. Said account not found and to call a number it listed.
Is this a pay app as I never used it before.

i guess you have to subscribe to it or have a plan that has it included. i have a SERO plan and its not included with mine =(

Easier to read street names, more finger friendly navigation. More like traditional telenav product.

K here's a solution in short for those who have issues with "account reqd" message!

1) First run the sprint nav (which will ask you basic info like name/email) - feed it - run it
2) then install this telnav..launch it..feed the same info as u did earlier
3) make sure u go to the site posted earlier in this thread and get a pin (which is mostly last digits of ur tel no.)
4) thats it.

Hope that clears out doubt and helps.

Well having passed the 1st hurdle to make it work...my problem is..it keeps giving me same message on GPS loc.. "weak signal.. stay motionless...in open area"!

Well I have tried ev thing..diff locations...soft-resets... yet the same prob. Does anyone else have the same prob?

In step2..I mean.. Install the TeleNav cab posted in this thread (post1) and run it. And feed the same info that you put into "sprint Nav" in step 1.
(Basically what I am trying to say is.. run the normal/default SprintNav before you install this TeleNav s/w.. and use the same info..1st name..last name and email address).

Actually even I had deleted it. So I got it from here:

Install that 1st.
Run it.
Enter details
Then get to TeleNav from the top of this post...and follow the same steps.

Yay! Glad it worked out for you..and yes cheers.. started working for me as well.. I was standing under a tree when the GPS couldnt be locked (lollll).
I test drove it from work to home.. OMG...its really nice GPS. I am really impressed.
