A lil help pllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaase.... I have the May 2, 2010 Energy Rom Cookie Rom on my TP2 flashed to Metro PCS. I can connect my laptop to the phone and everything seems fine. But when I try to use the internet on my laptop, the browser it cannot connect to the website. I get an error stating, cannoct establish a connection to the server, no matter what website I try t go to.

This seems like it would be a setting issue somewhere but I cant find it. I have searched all over and have tried a few changes but nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Well i had mine working, hard reset and lost it. Now i can't get it to work.

Does anyone have the AL_CommManager_Suite_with_WifiSharing_1_1.CAB in a QVGA version for my Titan ?

It's the only one that works fine, all the other versions will not work. Just hate to have to scroll to use the com manager.

Any ideas on the "insufficient permissions" issue.
Stock TP2 VZW MR2 rom. TP2 app unlocker and sdkcerts installed.

I have been using HTC Wifi Router on my Touch Pro 2 since January this year. I have the older version which does not put this in comm manager. It is a little buggy at times (randomly drops the connection at times, or wifi connection resets when phone charge light turns green..hmm weird), but I must say it gets the job done. Before I had this, I constantly tried to get the USB internet sharing to work... which I could not.

I am using this on a Win XP machine with a mini wifi dongle plugged in to USB. For all of you who are unable to get the phone to see the network on your computer.... or you can't get your PC to see the phones Wifi network, here is a very important note to follow. MAKE SURE that the Wifi network on your PC is Wireless G compatible. The phones wifi network type is Wireless g/b . So that means than you cannot use a network on your PC such as Wireless N... or one that is not backwords compatible with Wireless g. Because the networks will not SEE each other, or only one of them will see the other, which will prevent a successfull connection.

Here is my contribution to this thread.
I had some trouble with the other cabs listed, so I tore them apart.
I took some things for here and some from there, cleaned it up a little and made a simple version of this without so many bells and whistles.

There are no wizards in the start menu.
This will add the WiFi Router option to slot 7 in your Comm Manager.
It works just fine on my VZW TP2 with stock rom MR2

Ok I download the appl as a first step the information to the phone. Ok I connect my phone to the PC, then in that folder I put this file. I place complete with the folder you already have?

I can't install the CAB, after run the CAB, the screen display " Installation was unsuccessful. The program or setting cannot be installed becase it does not have sufficient system permissions."
My phone is Sprint PCS HTC Touch Pro II Winows Mobile 6.5

I have a Touch Pro 2 with US Cellular. I downloaded the link from EGOvoruhk above: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/images/attach/cab.gif HTC Wi-Fi Sharing.cab and installed it. I went to Start and the WIFI was there. I tried it the first time and my PC did not detect the network from my phone. I stopped it and started it again and my PC found it and connected perfectly. No registry hacks. No hassles. Thanx EGOvoruhk.

Same here using EGOvoruhk cab. Running Touch Diamond on Sprint (stock 6.1 ROM, most recent version downloaded from HTC site) on $40 F&C plan with unlimted data. I may never switch out my Diamond now.

NO! the reg changes are for USB tether/stealth... Stealth tethering is not for Wifi

Ignore the Comm Manager software in the post. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the file. Pick the empty slot in your Comm Manager (I chose 7). Transfer it to your SD card, click on the .cab file, and install it to your device (not the card).

I use it a few times every week.

Thanks you! Works for me. The only downside I see is that it only support WEP which can be cracked easily.

having the same problem right now. used to work fine. turned on wifi automatically. i dled 10 different cabs but i still seem to be having the same problem. anybody know why its not working?

hello everyone,
thanks for the links about the htc wifi router.
i meet several problems on my htc HD2
1) when installed "internet sharing cab, the program workd but is doesn't display the bottom line with start and stop + main nenu. i can't use it
2) when trying to install the new comm manager, the installation stops at the near end saying that the installation can not end due to the missing of an enough good security signature of the soft.
did anyone met this problem and is there a solution.

the cab in this thread is for the TouchPro 2 (TP2). look for a hd2 version. :)
